Homelessness affects many states across America, and with inflation, the decline seems minimal. Although state and federally regulated agencies are available to assist, the overload often delays processing. The lack of housing can be a domino effect of a lack of structural living. Without mental stability, many are overwhelmed by the need to get it all together. 

The pressure of falling behind makes it hard to catch up, and isolation without supportive connections makes it hard to understand. As ELTSRP approaches activation in the community, we have come to understand the hurdles in addressing the diverse needs of the homeless population. Focusing on directional service creates a broader bridge to serve more individuals and build longevity.

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, in 2017, more than 40,000 veterans experienced homelessness. Although that number constantly fluctuates due to societal changes, the impact on one can be significant for many if the momentum is sustained. Focusing on the homeless community shines a light on those who should not be forgotten. The elderly and veterans who served our  country are now subjected to living in deficiency due to a lack of resources. ELTSRP creates a strategy for a new life by providing those resources and guidance toward stability.

ELTSRP plans to address the need for housing and understanding through leadership, strategic unity, collaboration, and accountability. ELTSRP’s approach, while operating as a workforce re-entry program, among other things, is to make the transition possible under extenuating circumstances. 

We aim to become a guide and reference when individuals can stand on their own two feet again. The difference that ELTSRP brings is the continuation of stability beyond the basics, striving above and beyond to ensure every individual’s tailored needs are met according to available resources and supplies.
